Duplication
- Duplicated CDs and DVDs are burned with a laser. Unlike replicated discs, or “manufactured discs”, a duplicated disc starts its life as a blank CD or DVD R. Unfortunately, this attribute can cause compatibility issues. While most modern computer drives and CD/DVD players can read CD and DVD Rs, older ones may not be able to.
- Duplication is cost effective for under 1000 discs. Give approximately 1 week for turnaround time for an order this large. Smaller orders may only take a day or two to duplicate.
Replication
- Replication discs are made much differently. Opposed to starting as a blank disc and having information burned into them, replicated discs are created from a glass template. The information is then “stamped” into the discs. Replication is much more cost effective for orders over 1000 discs.
- Replicated discs are professional grade and are 100% compatible with all DVD players.
